I hope this review reaches the 21 other people on here that have left reviews.I left my watch at Carats to Karat in Nipomo in June of 2024 with David Brown. He told me he was a “certified watchmaker” and “the best and only in California” (come to find out he has never even taken a watchmaking class, let alone certified). An absolute fraud.The watch was left in pieces for over a year, come to find out, he was let go for poor quality work, leaving unannounced and leaving people’s timepieces behind, AFTER I paid him nearly $400. No call. No refund.A young man named Taylor, a true Swiss-trained watchmaker, explained the situation, and how he had worked with this pathological liar. He was able to quote my parts and repair, uphold his word to keep original parts, and had the watch back to me same day!!! I will never bring my watch to anyone but Carats to Karat/Mr. Stiles. David is a fraud, a liar, and lacks integrity. I highly recommend going elsewhere.
Asked David if he could change the hands in my Breitling Superocean. It is a white dial, white numbers, white hands, couldn't see a damn thing in sunlight. He said no problem so we discussed color options then he came back with several options.It took a few weeks and David was superb advising of the status of delivery etc and then checking I like the look and confirming the Lume color so it all matched.Price was superb, quality of work and communications were excellent.I now have a watch I can see and it looks totally different from others out there.Thank you David.

Thank you David, My Dad’s pocket watch is working great! My Grandfather had a similar Hamilton Railroad pocket watch that my Dad always loved, so my mother bought this one for him after they got married. I don’t know how long it was broken but when he passed my step mother gave it back to me. It means a lot to me even when it wasn’t working as a memory of my Dad.. And now to have it working again is wonderful! Great Job!
He was a very kind man. He’s a local guy too, I really enjoyed talking to him. He barely took any time with my watch and it turned out perfect. He also has very good prices. He gave me and my father fresh baked pumpkin muffins too. Generally I don’t rate five stars, but this guy earned it. My dad and I usually don’t go to places to get things changed out or repaired, but we will for sure come back here if we ever need something fixed.
Excellent service and turn around time. I had two watches serviced by David. Both my Omega SMP and Hamilton KFA 38mm are running within spec or better. I'll be sending all my watches to In Time Watch Repair. Thanks again Dave.
David is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in the art of watch repair and design. I have a Patek Phillipe that had issues with the chronograph and he knew exactly what needed to be done and promptly fixed the issue.I highly recommend his expertise and service!
